Quote me a quote!

What's your favorite quote? I'm running a contest on my newsletter (opt in to get yours) about quotes. Here's my fave quote today:

I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life's a bitch. You've got to go out and kick ass.
Maya Angelou

What's your quote of the day?

One of my favorite quotes is "Pay no attention to boundaries". Though sometimes, with my children, this quote comes back to haunt me!

All because two people fell in love... I know it's cheesy but, after 7 years of infertility... our two kids are the very best gift of our life together.

Hi Allison! Here is one of my favorite quotes . . . .

Hi Allison - I love all your creative items. I own several and have gifted several as well. Here's my favorite quote [clearly I'm a grandma and loving it!]:

"Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children." (Alex Haley)

I want to be a stardust sprinkler!

Hi Allison,
This is going to be fun! I have a couple of your fun necklaces and love my LadyBird, so for a chance to get some more I'm going to brush off some of my (hopefully) great quotes!

From the wonderful Erma Bombeck:
When your mother asks, "Do you want a piece of advice?" it's a mere formality. It doesn't matter if you answer yes or no. You're going to get it anyway.

At the age of 51, I'm still lucky enough to be getting advice (good and bad) from my own Mom and of course giving out great advice to my own kids!

Happy Saturday,
Rosanne

My favorite is "Don't sweat the small stuff." My dad used to say it a lot before he passed away 8 years ago. Now it is my mantra. Losing him to cancer has made me realize that a lot of things in life that get me upset don't really matter in the grand scheme of life. Although it is hard, I try to just let them go and enjoy life to the fullest.

i have always liked "be the change you wish to see in the world". kind of puts you in this "i can do/be anything" frame of mind. also, it keeps me from dwelling on what's wrong with the world and approaching things with a more positive attitude.

Hey Lady,

I love quotes! Here are two that have been in the back of my mind for several years now:

"Every day above ground is a good day." -- Scarface (among other sources). It reminds me in a pretty simple way, that no matter how crappy things look from my p.o.v. things could always be worse!

"I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much." -- Mother Teresa. This one just reinforced that the right decisions are usually the hardest and that i was totally strong enough to handle it.

How fun!

Hi Allison, I love my magnets, and I am so happy that you decided to do Grammy things, seeing that I am one. Ok, this is a totally 70's saying, but that's when my kids were little, and I always tried to remember that:

"Children are not things to be molded, but people to be unfolded."

Since my short-term (and sometimes long-)memory isn't what it used to be, I can't seem to remember any more gems of wisdom. Happy Mother's Day!

ooh, ooh, I have another one, for what it's worth, haha. When feeling down and sad, we should always remember that "You are everything to somebody!" even if we're not aware of it. Happy Monday!

Hi, Alison.
My personal mantra...
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well. (Julian of Norwich).

I live with chronic depression. On bad days, that quote reminds me that this too will pass; on good days, it reminds me that things will get even better... you don't get much more motivational than that!
